RESTAURANT

Location:

Ilidža, Sarajevo, BiH

Type:

Hospitality

Year:

2022.

Mendy Restaurant is designed as a place for meeting, conversation, and delight—not just dining. The goal was to create an ambience where spirit and aesthetics stand side by side: architecture is not merely a frame but an integral part of the experience. In this project, space becomes a stage—for gathering, for calm, for moments that endure.
The design follows a principle of subtle transformation: from entry to main hall, materials shift, turning a functional zone into an experience.

Elegant wood textures, matte metal finishes, and calm palettes that don’t distract but support the content.
Subtle, considered—playing with shadow, emphasizing corners without dominating. Each moment in the space is lit so users can feel material, texture, and atmosphere.
The main hall is open and airy with clear visual lines. More private nooks are discreet, offering quiet and intimacy—ideal for conversation and enjoyment.

Every element—from furniture to lighting—has a role in telling the space’s story. Minimal décor allows focus on what matters: the experience.
Mendy Restaurant is more than a restaurant: it’s a space for multiple purposes—gathering, celebration, serenity. The entrance creates a sense of reception: guests pass from Ilidža’s urban context into a space that settles them. The main area includes a communal zone, flexible tables, fluid transitions, and visual openness. Intimate parts allow guests to retreat, contemplate over a meal, converse, or simply enjoy the ambience. Interaction between user and architecture is unobtrusive: the space supports, it doesn’t command.

Here, Studio ZIDOVI demonstrates how a hospitality space can rise above mere function—to become artistic expression, a place that invites feeling. The project unites aesthetics and comfort, sophistication and warmth, clear lines and a meditative atmosphere.
